Is a digitally-generated medical certificate legally valid in India?

Yes — provided it carries the doctor''s name, qualification, registration number and signature, and the patient''s identifying details. The NMC Code of Medical Ethics does not mandate any particular paper or format — the certificate can be printed, digitally issued, or hand-written, as long as the RMP takes responsibility for its contents.
